The Perry Family Farm, a four-generation legacy of sustainable farming in Southern Alberta, is known for its commitment to producing quality food for the world and customers, incorporating environmental stewardship. Father Gerald, Brothers Chris and Harold Perry oversee a diverse operation spanning over 5,200 acres, producing crops for clients like Frito Lay and McCain. Furthermore, the Perry Family Farm is dedicated to regenerative farming practices, prioritizing the cultivation of healthy soils through methods such as composting, digestate application, and cover cropping.

These practices underscore their commitment to sustainable agriculture and environmental responsibility, ensuring healthy soil for healthy crops, which in turn contributes to a healthier population. In addition to their sustainable practices, the Perry Family Farm strongly emphasizes people, especially their dedicated crew. They create a positive and nurturing environment for their staff and family, fostering a sense of community and collaboration. This commitment to both sustainability and the well-being of their team sets an example of responsible farming and family values.

Grow the Energy Circle Ltd (GrowTEC), is a bioenergy initiative. This venture includes a biogas generation plant that converts organic waste into clean energy, allowing the farm to be virtually off-grid. Moreover, GrowTEC stands as a beacon of rural economic development and a prime example of the circular economy in action. The GrowTEC project harnesses the power of biogas by converting organic waste into clean energy while returning nutrient-rich amendments to the land that help build healthy soil. GrowTEC recently partnered with Evergen Infrastructure Corp to professionally operate and plans to expand the biogas facility.

Sharing the farm with the community is central to the Perry Farm operations. Every year since 2016, the Perry Farm and the Potato Growers of Alberta invite community members to come out to the farm and pick themselves a free 20lb bag of delicious red Mozzart potatoes to take home and enjoy.

Today, we honour the Perry Family with this special event. Since 1988, the Dhillon School of Business Scholarship Dinner has raised more than $2 million in support of student scholarships. Proceeds from this year’s dinner will go towards creating an endowed scholarship for students in the name of the Perry family.

The Perry Family Scholarship has a fundraising goal of $50,000, which will create an endowed scholarship for students in the Dhillon School of Business. To ensure a university education remains an option for even more students, the University of Lethbridge Board of Governors has pledged $10 million in match funds for the establishment of new endowed student scholarships. Your contribution to the Perry Family Scholarship will double the impact as it will be matched 1:1.
